JB2A - v0.6.8 Release

Dear patrons!

Thank you all so much for the support! It genuinely means a lot.❤️
It's a priviledge to realize how much impact we have on the VTT scene.
Slight issue for the "Only New Stuff" zips... Probably because of how many files there are in it.
That's because we've converted more than 300 webms from VP9 to VP8 on top of the new assets for this release. Our Command line to create a differential between two Github commits did not like that apparently... 😅
So we'll probably have to do it manually and we'll update the Master Post in the next few days with the links once it's done.
These converted assets won't change anything for people using FoundryVTT, by the way. It is mainly for other VTTs like Fantasy Grounds,etc, that use Unity for example, and is not compatible with VP9.
There are still quite a lot left to convert, and even some that we will probably have to redo and replace.

FoundryVTT V12

Before presenting the new assets, we want to quickly talk about FoundryVTT V12.
We know how exciting a new major version can be, we are very much looking forward to giving it a try!
However, we highly recommend considering staying with V11 for at least a couple of months.
Module developers haven't had time to update their modules for V12 and are, for the most part, incredibly talented independent developers, who are doing so in their free time, for free.
So please, be kind, be patient, and make sure you consider supporting them too, if you can of course!

New Auras

These might be of interest to Kineticists, or inspire you for different spells or features.
We've made an inward, outward an orbit version, including a "complete" (intro-loop-outro) and a loop for four different themes so far: cold, metal, nature and wood.

A new healing ability

This is another burst healing animation that we thought looked cool. The complete version is a bit more challenging than expected, so we'll have to come back to it. Would you be interested?

Technically, our assets are compatible with any version of FoundryVTT. The manifest link didn't work in V12 until last night, when version 12.328 of FoundryVTT has been released. As for the other modules like Sequencer and Automated-Animations, their developers released a few versions of their respective modules for V12 compatibility. It works well, as far as I can tell. There might be some bugs remaining though.

Oops! I just subbed to this, not realising v12 isn't supported. Is there an ETA on v12 support?

You may have misunderstood what this Patreon is about. We create animated assets, videos in the webm format. That's it. Wasp (Sequencer), Otigon (Automated-Animations) and MrVauxs (Pf2e-Animations) are not part of the JB2A team. They are developing these awesome modules in their free time and we can't "force" them to do anything. We realize FoundryVTT V12 has shaken the foundations of this eco-system but, as always for major updates, we need to be patient. This is a very recent major change in FoundryVTT and you can't expect all the modules to be ready so quickly. There's already a beta of Sequencer available for V12 that fixes most, if not all. We encourage you to go and support the module developers. Most of them have a Ko-fi page: Wasp : https://ko-fi.com/fantasycomputerworks MrVauxs : https://ko-fi.com/mrvauxs Otigon has pulled out of actively developing Automated Animations and closed his Patreon page. From a fun little project, it was quickly becoming a nerve-wracking job and he did not enjoy it anymore. But he is willing to maintain it, meaning anyone can contribute to the project on Github and if need be, maybe try fixing it when something major breaks down.

Oooh, thank you so much for reporting this. We've fixed the NEW_CONTENT_ONLY_jb2a_patreon_0.6.8.zip file. Sorry about this, we've had to do this differential file ourselves instead of relying on a Github trick that usually works and decided not to this time :)

I installed by NEW_CONTENT_ONLY_jb2a_patreon_0.6.8.zip. This pack has only the "Compele" version, no "Loop" file.

How did you install the latest update? It works on my side, so I'm guessing something went wrong when installing/updating, maybe?
