Qt, I don’t know if you read the comments but if you google “health insurance brokers near me” you’ll find a broker who can play the middle man for you and talk to the health insurance carrier for you and help you pick the best plan. It’s a little more expensive but worth it if you get overwhelmed with choices like I do. Im an insurance broker and help explain things all day to people so try it out!

The reason most people never speak up when something that was said bothers them is because then they’re labeled as sensitive. Or the person will then be like “oh it was just a joke calm down” and then they’re seen as a killjoy or someone that can’t take a joke.

Thanks for talking about it! Honestly nothing about this sounded like actual pick-me behavior but who am I to say. I struggle to build deep friendships with other women (27f) and it just is what it is at this point. I try very hard but just haven’t been able to build that deep reciprocity with other women outside my best friend.

You both talking about female friendships is so fucking real. Thank you so much for discussing this. I’m a 28f and I have SUCH a hard time making female friends (mainly I think based of similar experiences as QT) I never learnt to do make up, or do my hair, or any girly girl stuff even if I kinda wanted too. 😅 And so mainly ended up hanging with guys, because they liked similar stuff, video games, skateboarding, rock climbing etc and that’s just where I fit in / still fit in mostly. I also work in the video game industry, where 90% of my team is male, so makes it so hard to find other women…. I’m glad I’m not the only female that still suffers through this. Hopefully we’ll make more female friends one day! Love this podcast so much, thanks for this episode!
