Tier Changes?
Added 2021-08-20 15:06:00 +0000 UTCI had an epiphany after looking at mutual's patreon and seeing that they only had one, single, $5 tier. With access to everything their patreon had to offer. Do y'all think that would be a good idea for me to do as well? The people pledged to the higher tiers would be paying 1-5 dollars less for the same content they're already subbed for. And you $3 tier guys would only pay $2 more for access to my timelapses and CSP files instead of 3-7 dollars more. And I would receive a net-positive in income from compressing everything down to a single tier. Of course the platinum tier would still be its own thing and I'd go back and change access to old content if I need to.
TL/DR: I want to compress the tiers down to one 5 dollar tier with access to everything creating a win/win/win situation. And want to run it by y'all first.

2021-08-20 23:02:26 +0000 UTCi understand that i will lose some supporters, that's inevitable. i did some calculations however and even if i dropped 80 patrons with this new single tier system i'd still come out with a net positive. and i feel like most people would see "two more dollars for two more tiers of content" as a win

2021-08-20 19:06:08 +0000 UTCI disagree, I am on the bronze tier I chose based on my interest. If you force everyone to one tier, the people who have to pay more might choose to unsub altogether.

2021-08-20 17:18:37 +0000 UTCGenerally speaking, it's better to have multiple tiers so you can efficiently capture the interests of different types of audiences, but having one tier is understandably much easier to deal with as a creator. I don't think it's a good idea to view it as a clear win/win situation because there will be people who won't move to the higher tier, and that might not offset the people moving down.
