Now here's a bit of news- Sega will be releasing VF5 on Steam via the new version, Virtua Fighter 5 REVO, this Winter 2024. The game, which will be the firs time PC gamers will be seeing a VF title on the platform since forever, will feature 4K visuals, 60FPS (well duh), rollback netcode and additional content(?).
So basically this will be an updated version of VF5 US, which comes with the character models via the Yakuza games' studio. Unfortunately, the game was lacking barefoot customizations that came with Final Showdown, so it may seem a bit of a non-event, particularly when everyone was stoked for a VF6 announcement.
That said, since this is on PC, this may open up the possibility of mods, so perhaps modders can add barefoot customs and costumes that we want even if Sega can't or won't deliver. We'll see! This could be a potential gold mine for more Barefoot KOs, or it could be a bust. Time will tell, but at the very least its something to look forward to alongside all the other fighting game content coming in the near future. Stay tuned- I'll be sure to be on this like a hawk.
