SF6: Release Date for Mai Shiranui Confirmed!

Yes, we were all blown away by the recent announcement of the DLC Fighters for Streetfighter 6 Year 2. The Return of M.Bison and SF3's Elena were already an event... but the reveal of not one but two Guest Fighters- the first ever in the franchise- from the SNK's Fatal Fury/King of Fighters series? Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui were coming to Street Fighter!

Sure, Terry is awesome and all- but it's Mai that got me and doubtless a lot of foot lovers as well- particularly when we saw the artwork showing the characters at the end of the trailer. Mai is clearly based on Real Bout Fatal Fury's version- seen by her wearing her 'barefoot' tabi footwear. Mai Shiranui, rendered in the awesome RE Engine... and barefoot (semi-barefoot even)?? This is the best timeline EVER!

The only wrinkle of course was the release date given to her- Winter 2025. WINTER 2025? What does this mean? Many of us were immediately worried that we were going to have to wait for December 2025 for Mai to arrive- which is actually pretty crazy since that would mean that it would be more than a year and a half of waiting. It was obviously ridiculous, and many suspected a mistake. Soon though a more reasonable release was suspected. The order of release was soon revealed, with Bison first, then Terry, then Mai and lastly, Elena. People then reasoned that most likely 'Winter 2025' referred to the period of December 2024 to early 2025. A weird technicality, but that made sense, as Elena would then arrive to close out the Season in Spring 2025.

Today, FINALLY, the official Streetfighter Twitter/X account confirmed; "Mai, the Alluring Kunoichi. Arrives in Early 2025."

WHEW! Well that's a load off. So from today, we have about 7-8 months of wait before we get Mai and her sexy ninja feet in SF6. I hope they use all this time to really make her the best and hottest version of Mai EVER. I can't wait to see her in RE Engine, to see her in action. So let's all stay healthy and safe, People.
