A large number of previews of the upcoming turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 came out today on Youtube, showing up to 3 hours of gameplay from early on in the story. Aside from this game looking absolutely gorgeous with no hint of western ugly female characters (probably because devs Sandfall Interactive is an indie studio, not a soulless corporation) having a very intriguing story, Expedition 33 has Lune, the female mage who goes barefoot in her default outfit.
I am still quite curious as to why she is a barefooter, if they will mention this in the course of the story. Do mages regularly go barefoot (not wanting to see a barefoot male mage), or is it just her due to her style of magic? Is it because Sandfall are French devs, and they just love feet? DId they design her to attract the foot fetish gamer community in particular? Or no particular reason? Anyway, of the three or four main female heroes, Lune is definitely my favorite and not just because she is shoeless (and she does have alternate outfits with footwear). She's the hottest for me, I love her face and her personality so far.
I also like that when a player character is knocked out, they fall backwards and lie on their back, unlike a great majority of RPGs that have downed characters flat on their face. Since the game is on Unreal, I also am assuming a freecam will be available soon after launch.
Not sure if I will do a Let's Play on the channel. Maybe just posting Lune's scenes or footage will be enough? RPG wise, I still have to finish my Baldur's Gate 3 Barefoot Monk Let's Play, and I do still want to do a Barefoot Shadowheart run too... so many games, so little time.
Anyway, yeah- definitely getting Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 when it comes out in late April. Something to look forward to in between all the fighting game stuff.
