Stranded part 1: Castaway-1

You were born twice... the first time was 30 years ago, on Earth. The second time, it was on an uncharted planet, far away from anything and anyone you've ever known.

They call them Arks. Once humans found a way to travel far beyond the speed of light, those giant ships started flying away from Earth to other systems, in order to colonize planets similar to ours. After we find a new world, we send probes that explore the surface for a few years and only then we send an Ark with colonists. That's how it's done, you don't know much about technicalities, you never needed that... you were a member of the Arc security, after all, not a scientist or an engineer. You had little on Earth anyway, so when the choice was between the army and an ark... you chose the latter. The job was easy: guard of the new outpost on planet IDA-2251.

The ark is projected to turn into a giant stronghold once it lands on a new planet, and you were recruited to be one of its protectors. Scientists, engineers, builders, everyone has a role on an ark! Yours... it's boring, but on earth you didn't have the money for college so you were forced to join the army. Protocol wanted you to inject in your body all that shit they give to turn soldiers into giant beasts, and you took these shots for almost a decade before a member of the ark project recruited people from where you were stationed. A tiny, cold, bored doctor gave you some pills, a depilatory cream, and told you to take a shower before you entered the cryogenic capsule after he shaved your head. You definitely didn't look good without eyebrows but that's how it's done, so now you fell asleep in this bright, warm capsule, and in a few minutes you will wake up... 95 years in the future, on a new planet. Warm steam got sprayed all over your body, while the light inside the capsule started fading, slowly, and before it got completely dark you already fell asleep without even noticing.

You slowly wake up, it definitely didn't feel like 95 years, more like 95 seconds. When you realize what awaits you, you can't help but feel a bit excited and take a deep breath as the capsule opens up.

You can hear again as it happens, but your sight still needs some time. It's all blurry, and very dark, what's more strange is the smell of humidity and mould. You can't hear the recorded voice that should tell you what to do, so you decide to stand up and get out of the capsule anyway. The floor feels weird and clod, like a wet carpet. Your head stops spinning, but you still can't see a thing, it's all dark... it takes a moment before you realize the problem is not with your eyes. Something's wrong...

You're in a cave, with vegetation growing all over the walls and the capsule you were in; it opened itself automatically because of the emergency procedure, you read something about that: capsules open in case of an emergency or if the battery dies, and you got the horrible feeling that the latter is what really happened. The first thing you can think about is that the ark crashed and your capsule went down, surviving by a miracle.

You still can't see a thing, but you need to calm down and breathe... it doesn't make sense though, why are you in a cave and how long has it been since you were there? The moss and mushrooms started growing on the door. Only now you realize that the cave is just the room you were in... if the ark crashed, it happened a long time ago... you're fucked.

You're in the dark, alone, naked and unharmed... what do you do?
