You might not like Nagatoro's friends, but if it wasn't for them Nagatoro probably wouldn't have come to the festival in the first place. They're actually acting as wingwomen you could say. They trigger Nagatoro to get her to be more protective towards Senpai. After all they summoned her intentionally with that photo.

2021-05-25 01:39:28 +0000 UTCTo answer your question about the eyes, I heard that the reason why a lot of side-characters don't have eyes is many times because of the budget. Animating eyes costs a lot so they save some money by not doing it for background characters. Also, a lot of anime uses the "no eye" look to emphasize a certain "distance" between characters. A good example is Kaguya sama when Ishigami sees the "normies" as a completely different world and he can't see their eyes.
