This was embarressing to read. Apart from being this passionate yet calling F/Z a manga you also went ahead and had the audacity to use the argument that the star wars prequals are better watched after the main series as it was meant to be. I am not sure if you forgot but Star Wars produced 4,5,6,1,2,3. Fate was produced: Dean S/N, Fate/Zero, UBW. So if the production order is the intended order, she's doing it right (minus Dean). Unless your factoring in the UBW film which add's nothing to the fate/zero experience at all. This is how most of us who have been with the franchise since the early years will have consumed it. It fundamentally cannot be an incorrect way to watch on that basis alone. The visual novel argument is just out of place here, and yes i have read it as well. Watching Fate zero after *reading* it is logical, but the anime is not 1:1 with the VN. It is modified and cut up to cope with time constraints and maximising certain key storylines over others. References are made beetween the shows that the VN was not written to do because it came out prior to Zero. For the record i don't think it's wrong to watch UBW first. Fate Zero *is* best if you watch one staynight route before hand albeit i'd prefer it be 06. Ultimately it's just not that big of a deal man and crying about the fact your voice is not equal to the weight of everyone else is some teenage shit that you should reflect on. If the subscription isn't returning value to you, cancel for a bit and wait for a show you like to pop up on the youtube and rejoin.

While your points are valid, consider this. This choice was made in the context of a reaction channel. And watching UBW first actually takes the stakes out of most of Zero with what you learn. Watching Zero first also helps establish an investment in the characters and series making UBW all the better a reaction.

SMF I'm very disappointed that you caved and listened to all these uneducated people who literally don't know what you're talking about, Yaboy Roshi started the Fate series just recently as well and was also persuaded to start with Fate/Zero because of the same problem with the majority of people who pay you not understanding why the F you don't start with Fate/Zero and now that they've started UBW they understand why you're not supposed to start with Fate/Zero and have even already said just a couple episodes in they're disappointed they didn't start with UBW because of that. I'm unsubbing for now until you get to UBW if you are actually going to start with Fate/Zero because your Fate series reaction was the only thing I was going to be watching, and I understand my money isn't significant in the greater pool of contributions, but I'm tired of the fact that my financial contributions have no standing when it comes to my input and comments on the Fate series and is largely ignored despite me doing my best to get my voice heard over the masses of people like the above comments. FYI polls for extremely misunderstood series watchorders like this are pointless, there's too many people who genuinely don't know what they're talking about (kind of like a realistic representation of the people of this country right now unfortunately and no I'm not even talking about politically) and I could've told you the result of the poll before it was even posted would be Fate/Zero but that doesn't mean you should just blindly follow that result, instead I really wish you would've just quickly done your own research or even just straight up followed your own initial conclusion through your Star Wars Prequel comparison instead of putting up an unnecessary poll which will impact your enjoyment and understanding of the series.

Fate Zero is a good place to start. It'll make a lot of things make more sense in the long run, but the first few episodes might be a little hard to follow, so just a head's up for that.

Actually it sounds like that's EXACTLY who she listened to. On your first run you don't watch the Star Wars prequels before the original trilogy. You don't play Metal Gear Solid 3, which is a prequel for the entire series, before you play the original Metal Gear Solid. I guess all the complaining got through to her, though, so you got your wish. If she get bored partway through and drops the series due to the plot twists being spoiled then I guess that you have nobody but yourselves to blame.
