A lot of the solo filler episodes are omake/spinoff chapters that came out for holidays or special milestones. These tend to be character stories and such. I think most, if not all the ovas come from these chapters too. I think the only real "filler arcs" are Daphne's arc, the arc before the grand magic games and the one that is next.

2021-09-07 01:42:30 +0000 UTCYeah. Fairy Tail's filler is usually pretty good. Granted, most of the stand alone episodes aren't really filler. They are adapted by single chapter shorts that Hiro Mashima wrote but were not part of the main series Fairy Tail manga. A lot of these are added into the Fairy Tail volumes and into a two volume set called Fairy Tail S. That's probably why the stand alone seem so good.
