Sounds more like the writers wanted the White dude look Racist so that people could Cancel him later in Real Life for that. The Actor knew even if its a Series and he dont want to use the Word, there are still enough dumb people who would try to Cancel him because of it. So yea. Smart Move.

They changed it to be more subtle on his request, to "a certain type of people you stay away from. And that kid, Max, that kid is one of THEM."
