The only filler scene added to this episode was zoro and sanji clash with King and Queen and that was it. The rest of the episode was all canon and yes there were scenes stretched but it was for effect and to show off some god tier animation. instead, you've used yamatos reference to Roger and whitebeards clash as one of the filler scenes you were mentioning which is hilarious because it very much did occur in the manga too. Also for you to say that the clash between kaido and luffy was better in the manga is crazy. I know people's opinions vary but that right there sounds like complete bias.

If you add these with the one that Kaido cut off then it is seven heads. It was very clear what Oda was doing in this case. While Oda has done some annoying fake outs before (Pell), this is not one of them.

2023-02-13 15:30:57 +0000 UTCThat I think we need to blame it on other anime. People rave about the animations and the over the top effects on other anime. There are always posts about it and people reacting to clips of it. So One Piece now goes along with that trend as a way to get those same reactions since they wouldn't get that with their more subdued style they had. It's just how the style of anime has gone. Am I a fan of it in One Piece? Not really, but it is what it is.

2023-02-12 20:56:21 +0000 UTCYeah I noticed it as well, but at least it doesn't happen too often lol Regarding the auras, I think they sometimes just tend to overdo it to the point where you can't really tell if it's just an effect or if it's supposed to indicate haki. That's why I wish they would stick closer to the manga, but just my opinion.

2023-02-12 20:49:03 +0000 UTCI think the sound effect was the only jarring part XD the aura was fine but everyone that has seen dbz associates that sound effect with turning super saiyan 🤣. Is it just me or wano using a lot of those sound effects. Maybe Dressrosa used some I don’t remember but I am noticing a lot of recycled toei sound effects for this Kaido fight.

His devil fruit is the Yamata no Orochi which is an eight headed snake that needs all eight heads to be cut off in order to die. If you count all the heads that he lost from Kaido and the Akazaya, he has lost seven heads so far. During this time when the manga chapters were coming out, it was a very common theory that he was going to return so his return here was expected.

2023-02-12 13:12:03 +0000 UTCFun fact almost 90% of that episode was filler with the only Cannon part practically being Luffy and Kaido having their clash which was much better in the manga. Also every moment with the anime cutting to Yamato over the past 40 episodes or so telling stories like how Whitebeard and Roger split the heavens is filler. This anime is just packing in a ton of filler with Yamato while trying to give her more importance. You will understand why trying to give Yamato all these filler scenes and importance is a waste of time later at the end of the arc.
