Fairy Tail Ep 282-283 Reaction/Review~!

Just an (implied) explanation in case people wonder why Natsu was powerful enough to defeat the Battle God (regardless of inheriting Igneel's power directly): Considering the canonical fact that the strength of a summoned entity is overall restricted by the power of the summoner themselves (e.g. Lucy when she summoned the Celestial Spirit King and he got weaker due to Lucy using too much magic with that huge spell against Jackal), it makes full sense that Natsu was able to beat the Battle God. Arlock's other "powerful spells" were no match for Natsu, so obviously he has WAY less magic power overall than Natsu does. This fundamental magic law in FT actually makes a lot of sense when you consider it from this perspective.

I also like to think that with everything that happened with Ultear, the unity between guilds that helped stave off Tartaros, and the support after he had to kill his dad, Grey's slowly been 'saved' from the dark side. I can see a future where things just kept going bad for him, he's already an obsessive personality so breaking isn't too far off the mark

These first few episodes really show how much stronger everyone (though especially Natsu) has gotten over that past year. These types of enemies probably would’ve taken up a whole arc back in the first season. It’s nice to see that growth.

This is how I understand the whole thing with Frosh. I may be wrong. Future Rogue lost Frosh in a version of the story where he went on that mission to stop Avatar. He started fighting them while Gray was still undercover. During the fight Frosh was killed in the crossfire. Sure enough, Rogue pinned the blame on Gray.
