Yes, if you subscribe to a Patreon membership through the iOS app using Apple Pay, Apple will charge a 30% fee. This fee applies to new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, but not to existing memberships or those purchased through the Patreon website or Android app. Patreon is required to use Apple's in-app purchase system for all iOS transactions, leading to this fee

I switched to only watch her reaction with One Piece which normally was fine but reccently the main reason i subscribed to this patreon is gone. I do not mind the huge black clover delays but one pice really hurts me. And I need to probably find another reaction for that......

One Piece seems to have monetization issues because of copyright on every episode so she isn’t really getting money from it and she actually communicates on yt comments unlike patreon I wouldn’t have even known she was sick if I didn’t check Youtube

One Piece episode 1144 is already out and yet she doesn't even have 1143 up. She adds new shows while not finishing what she's already watching. I don't even care about it as it's not my type of anime but there seems like a lot of people who liked Lord of Mysteries and that got added to the pile of shows that went poof and there hasn't been an upload for it for over a month.

2025-06-23 15:36:42 +0000 UTCGood news, apple just lost a lawsuit vs epic games exactly about this thing. 2025: "A judge finds that Apple willfully violated a 2021 court order and ordered Apple to allow developers to direct users to alternative payment methods, bypassing the 30% commission" So patreon should be able now to clearly tell users: Hey, just click this link and you don't pay 30% on top. Hopefully they follow through and implement it. (But maybe they wait while apple appeals the decision...)
