Raffle for June - a lot of fraud patrons
Added 2017-07-05 11:27:26 +0000 UTCThere was a lot interest in my Patreon in June and the raffle status got raised to bust from portrait. Unfortunately I see now, that nearly 50% of the payments are marked 'fraud' - that means people joined in but the payment was not sent to me at all.
I am starting to wonder, if it really was all intentional cheating or maybe there is some problem with Patreon itself? Or with connection paypal-patreon? If you would like to be sure yourself - please check your payment status.
It happened only with the new patrons, payments of those who were with me for a longer time worked just fine.
I wanted to do the raffle today and draw the winner, but first I would like to be sure how everything really looks. The people whose payment is 'fraud' will not be taking part in the raffle and will be blocked from my Patreon.
I will wait with raffle and final decision till next week, so eventually everyone would be able to react.
Thanks for reading <3

oh, somehow I did not thought these may be bots. I need to research this topic a bit more tomorrow during the breakfast, because this sounds reasonable. The first fraud payment I had was a 'normal' person, because we chatted and had contact on Deviantart, that is why I have not thought about it. I think that I need to get used to this situation. Yet I wonder how it looks on accounts of really famous people!? I just want to do this one last try and ask out loud about this. Maybe someone really is not aware about such situation? Chances are slim I know.

Many artists on here now, if they aren't using the pay upfront method, send stuff directly to supporters via Direct Message to avoid any high res or private Patreon content getting out because of these bots. When a new person subscribes and they don't have an icon or any past history is successful pledges, I assume they are bots so I keep in mind what my 'real' total might be at the end of the month if they are. If some arent bots, yay! I hope you have less issues with fraud accounts going forward :(
