This video is my excuse to finally explain how I think the scariest horror movies "work". In this video, I cover the most enigmatic psychological thrillers and analog horrors to crack what the scariest movie is... Spoiler Alert: it's Lake Mungo.
So I review the heck out of this movie, losing my voice while I go in circles praising its horror, before giving my list of runner-ups, and ending with a transition into possible future theories on the Mungo lore.
This is a unique theory, only similar to my 2021 video essay on Netflix's "Dark". It's more of a real-world theory than my usual videos.

They just released the Shrek teaser trailer, it confirms that this is a dystopian future rather than the past, hidden in meme format to throw off the masses, but us over here know better.
