I thought they left JYP afterwards on their own accord, not that he "let them go". Can't really blame them tho but they found their own path which is all good in the end.

It was Natty or Mina, they've mentioned in earlier episodes how they trained the least. Chaeyoung, Dahyun, and Somi are part of the kids team with over 2 years of training so it couldn't have been Somi. You can see how devastated Chae was when Somi got eliminated as they were best friends(still are to this day). It's unfortunate cuz Somi would have been the member to ease up and expand their success in the West even more as the designated English speaker and most relatable to westerners even tho Jihyo Momo and Chae are doing great in that department as they are. But we can all agree w/ JYP that Somi wasn't ready at this point but I bet Somi would have got chosen had anyone in JYP predicted how drastically she'd improve in a matter of months prior to joining Produce 101 and becoming the #1 pick and center of TWICE's biggest rival early in their career, iOi. This is also when the NayeonXDahyun witch hunt began, after Dubu swapped places with Minyoung who has been in the agency together with 3Mix for 5 years. Knetz to this day spread rumors of how Nayeon actually hates Dubu and bully/ignore her completely off camera. Tzuyu's reaction to winning is the GOAT in all survival/talent shows ever made lol.

I bet he regrets letting somi and chaeyeon go seeing how big they are now jiwon isn’t as big but at least she’s with fromis9 now and she can be happy there and chaeryeong and itzy are definitely jyp next global group he’s using them like blackpink is being used more internationally while twice has Asia so it worked out for most of the trainees here except the young one whose name I don’t know
