Well it’s not easy when you’re an idol. Other couples on that show are actors/actresses who are okay with skin ship and being lovey dovey. Sungjae and Joy are from idol groups and sometimes fans get protective and can be down right mean if a male and female idol have intimate interactions. Especially, the newer generation fandoms can be very possessive over their idols. That’s why Sungjae has been so cautious with Joy since Day 1. Also, remember Sungjae and Joy had haters/antis even before WGM aired. Those haters either said that Joy isn’t good enough to be paired with Sungjae cuz she’s tall and is fat. Also, some fans were saying how childish and immature Sungjae is and that Joy deserves an older/mature romantic guy. But I honestly think.. Sungjae and Joy are the best match. Both are young and haven’t experienced relationships. Also, the fact that Joy was literally a BABY and this was her first reality show/variety shows by herself without her members. Sungjae lead and guided her well tbh. He didn’t rush her and wanted her to be comfortable with him. Imagine the amount of hate Sungjae would have gotten if he made a move right away? Joy had said multiple times how even though she gets a little upset that Sungjae doesn’t initiate skin ship as much as she does. She’s grateful that he really wants to take his time to get to know her. He doesn’t want to lead her on and wants to have to relationship progress NATURALLY.
