August Update - KCLL v0.8, Void Cleric, Time Wizard, and More

Hey Folks-

KCLL v0.8

I've just gone ahead an updated KCLL v0.8 on its post over here. Been forgetting to update that post and just attaching it to the monthly summaries, but will try to remember better to keep things organized as I go forward.

I'm still working out a changelog, but it has about 25 more pages and marches ever close to that illusive state of 'complete'.

New Subclasses

From the last subclass poll, the previous winners were Time Wizard and Void Cleric, and I promised I'd bring those along soon, so here those are:

• Wizard: Order of Chronomancy.

• Cleric: Void Domain.

July Poll

The newest subclass voting poll just finished with the top 5 being

• Way of Asura/Demon Monk (71),

• Ninja/Shinobi Rogue (65),

• Thug (Strength) Rogue (65),

• Wereranger (59),

• Way of a Thousand Fists Monk (54)

The bottom five were Rogue 1/3 Druid (22), Paladin Blood Oath (23), Ranger Stormcaller (26), Rogue Psionic Lurker (26), Cleric Winter Domain (29). So those 5 + whatever I make out of the top 5 (probably the top 2 or 3), will be dropped from the next subclass pull, making room for classes that didn't make the July Poll.

I will post a new poll later this month, though it will be a bit different polling for options for my classes. The winners of July Poll will be posted with that though probably (if they are ready).

FoundryVTT Modules

The FoundryVTT module was for KCCC was at long last updated, and should be compatible with all the latest Foundry bells and whistles, folderized, and generally polished up. I've brought on ChaosOS (a foundry module expert!) to help with that, and it looks like he did an excellent job getting it updated.

Other Things

The other items in progress are KCLL 0.9, Summoner v0.3, AA Crafting Update, July Poll Subclasses, and 5e++. Expect updates on all of those at some point in the future (I am good at giving estimates aren't I).

One D&D 2024

So the embargo on One D&D 2024 dropped and we can talk about the content of the books... but I don't have that much to say. It's... not great. It's not terrible, but it's generally not great. I put my review here over on my subreddit here if you want to read it:

So what does that mean going forward? I will keep making my content for 5e. In most cases, that will be useable in both systems. It will be less balanced in One D&D, but that isn't really the end of the world, since One D&D is less balanced in general, and generally stronger anyway; using content from a weaker system is usually easier than using content from a stronger system.

I'm going to make my own update to 5e called 5e++; I've mentioned it a few times, but its a lot less extensive an overall, just being my patch notes to 5e with some changes to underperforming features, bringing anything from One D&D that makes sense, and fixing some old problems.

In order of compatibility, my content will be compatible with 5e (made for) -> 5e++ (fully compatible) -> One D&D (should be roughly fine if you're fine with One D&D) -> Other 5e Systems like ToV (would probably work in most cases, but I make no promises).

You'll see more about 5e++ in the future, but again, my content is made primarily for 5e, and will work with anything compatible with as well that thing is compatible with 5e.
