Probably a bit late to answer, but I believe he meant his first match as a pro against Nikaido rather than his first game as pro in general

2018-12-22 01:54:53 +0000 UTCThe line about it being his first game as a pro is a mistake, or at the very least it conflicts with what we've heard so far. In episode 1 his teacher remarks that he was a prodigy that turned pro in middle school, and he is now 17, so it has been 2 years at least.
