2019-02-08 22:23:24 +0000 UTCAlso Reys breakdown is probably my favorite moment of the first season. It marks a huge step for him. In my opinion most of his misery comes from his empathy. On a base level Rey has a very good situation, he already is a Pro Shogi player, makes good money, has people who support him (the girls, his adoptive father, the shogi people). The reason he is unhappy is mostly because he feels bad about his what happened to his adopted silblings and therefore he feels as if he is a liability to all the new people in his live. In this scene he finally questions whever he is responsible for the misery of others ("Is everything my fault?") and when he finally decides that, no, people can take care of their own goddamn problems ("Go to hell") the music peaks beautifully. Thats the way you do character development

2019-02-08 21:40:59 +0000 UTCSo as i understand it the "Dan"-rank is about your overall achivements and not your current standings. Basically you can never lower your "Dan". The whole thing with promotion and demotion is league. So Kiriyama is playing in C-League here i think. So both a 5-th Dan and a 6-th Dan could meet in C-league.
