While I very much agree with this explanation, wouldn't that mean that Josuke/Jotaro should be an unstoppable EMT team? Josuke restores a clinically, yet recently dead body to its pristine state before whatever killed them and Jotaro solves the one thing that's wrong with them at that point: no beating heart. Grandpa Higashikata is a perfect example since he was as freshly dead as possible, compared to how long the husk of Joseph waited around before being "treated". Of course, if the fan theory about vampire blood being what helped revive Joseph - which Joseph promptly expelled with Hamon - is true, then I guess that's wrong. Of course, if you're undead, you wouldn't need a beating heart...

2019-02-10 16:40:50 +0000 UTCEverybody likes to shit on when Star Platinum "revived" Joseph making what Jotaro said about stands not being able to bring back the dead sounds stupid. But hear me out, Star Platinum didn't give a dead Joseph life or anything, he was clinically dead and just needed something to jumpstart his blood flow again, that's what Star Platinum did, it's not like it used any stand power capable of bringing back the dead. The only thing that made it capable of that in any special way was just being able to reach inside Joseph to stimulate the heart.

You can disagree, but these things are in the text and are a lot more interesting than "araki forgot".
