TL;DR Fugo ditched the gang because Araki hates betrayal. Also read Shameless Purple Haze.
Nope. Common misconception is that Araki had to "write Fugo out" of the story (though, I get why). What happened, happened because Fugo is a logically thinking individual. Bruno betraying the boss reminds him of the part of himself he hates most: acting irrationally and out of emotion. So, he left. Araki originally planned to have him betray the gang, but because of personal feelings (look up his quote on the situation, it's heartwarming) he couldn't do it. So he decided on what actually happened. Then Shameless Purple Haze was written and anyone that didn't know Fugo rules woke up to that realization. I hear Golden Ring is good too, but it's only in Japanese/Italian :(
Giorno though, I agree. The weird part is despite being a bit of a Mary Sue, he doesn't even feel like the main character. His motivation seems to be "wanna be a gangstar" and "the boss has no honor, or... something?" Meanwhile, Bruno has the strongest reason ever. Even the others like Narancia and Abbachio feel like they have more character motivation here than Giorno. It's weird, man.

But the fact that it gets them more money is a nice little coincidence, right?
Note: I am someone paying $10 a month, so it's not like I find it bad. Still.

They said they regretted it because it's just not the experience they like. They prefer waiting a week before the episodes because that's how it originally aired and they like to let the episode sit and permeate in their minds for a few days before the next. I can understand where they are coming from because I'm the same way. I find most anime and especially something as episodic as JoJo to be a lot more enjoyable with a few days between episodes.

I think Fugo was OK, Araki just didn’t know what to do with the character. Fugo had the perfect ability to pull off a sacrifice and die, by locking the enemy in a room and releasing Purple Haze. But it seemed like Araki had no clue what to do with him so what happened, happened. I liked Fugo’s ”angry genius” gimmick

I think that everyone wishes they could do two reactions, but they've mentioned before that they kinda regretted doing two-a-weeks for H×H, and that they felt like they were a bit pressured into it. So its probably not gonna happen.

but them doing it this will gives us who are up to date with JoJo something to watch while the anime is on hiatus, and spare the Bros from the temptation of Manga reading once they catch up because hopefully Part 6 will be airing before they finish Part 5... though that does leave Part 7 up in the air... but hey, if there's ever a good time for them to switch over to Manga reading reactions(like they've been doing for Berserk and plan to do for One Piece), it is for Part 7.

Sometimes I wish JoJo's would get double weekly slots like HxH did.

God, you guys have the patience of saints. By the time you finish part 5, you will have been watching JoJo's every week for something like 3 years. And that's IF part 6 isnt airing by the time you get done with part 5.

I wish Giorno acted more his age instead of something like he's 45. But all the other Gucci Gang are 6/5. Except Fugo.

Yeah, Giorno is up there with Jonathan except Jonathan actually had flaws that he worked around or improved while Giorno is just static. And he seems to just create solutions out of nowhere during fights. I find myself saying "Oh, I guess that's it then." at the end of every fight Giorno wins. No payoff. No "Oooh that's smart!" moments. Just a victory.

I do think that the character dynamics make up for those for the most part, Giorno is a bit of a Mary Sue tho.

Yeah, I may feel the same way looking back at part 5 during part 6. However I still think there are some genuine glaring flaws with part 5 that I didn't see as much (or at all) in the previous parts.

I think each part has it's own strengths, like the different stands they excel in different things so it's easy to expect the same type of quality that you liked in a previous part and be disappointed.

Watching Part 4 over again makes me realize how much more fleshed out it is in comparison to Golden Wind... man, Part 5 is so disappointing.

Stands that are bound to objects or are automatic don't tend to cause damage to their users when damaged.
