He stored veldora in his stomach so that great sage can find a way to release him from his prison at some point. His abilities can have his stomach as a storage space as well as being eaten and absorbed.

2019-04-04 08:23:10 +0000 UTCThe anime doesn't do a good job making it clear that Predator is not all powerful and operates very similarly to pokeballs in Pokemon. If you noticed in this fight it went from night to morning before Rimiru finished successfully consuming the Orc Disaster. A nice subtle way to show how difficult it was for Rimiru to succeed.
