Should definitely watch in release order; all the mystic of their very special relationship will feel diluted if you go straight into Kizu. I think Kizu should be watched after Hanamonogatari, and then go into Owari (makes the film a really weird and effective callback).

I watched everything as it was released and I had no problems piecing everything together. My personal opinion just watch the order that it was released in. Much simpler that way.

kizu was slated to be release right after bakemonogatari but the movies ended up in production hell for the better part of 6 years. You are meant to have the context of Kizu prior to Nise and Second Season

do kizu in the order when it aired. like after the season that aired before the first movie released. watching kizu before some other seosons really messes up some stuff. especially should watch nisemonogatary before, and season 2.

Have they confirmed how they're going to handle the Kizu movies? Each one is more than twice the length of a normal episode. Are they planning to do one video per movie or split them up?

Agreed, but I admit I am curious to see what they think of Kizu without the benefit of the character and plot knowledge they would have if they watched in the normal order.

watch Kizumonogatari now is equal to watch Star Wars episode 1 before 4. Kizu has many revelations that would be better to see later.

Honestly I love your time based reactions since I love rewatching the show while listening to your input on certain things as the show progresses. Though, have you decided on the full order of which you are going to watch the show in , just for curiosity purposes. Also side note I have every single bluray bundle on my shelf of the Monogatari series. Looking forward to Kizu :)
