Kinda strange that "one of the best works" of "the god of manga" needed to be reworked completely to be feasable as anime. The manga Dororo is really boring and mediocre. Only them reworking it entirely made it good. So its not Osamu Tezukas credit Oh and btw: I usually dont care about mangakas. I either enjoy the manga/anime or not. The author is irrelevant to me. I couldnt even tell you who wrote MHA, AoT/SnK or even Naruto even though I was a big fan of the series since i first saw it in 2005 and which got me into anime and manga in the first place The only mangakas I know are Oda (One Piece), Togashi (HxH/YYH) and (this one is more coincidental because i recently read the novels) Fuse (Slime)

@Vanessa White "a random show by a random person" If you aren't aware of who Osamu Tezuka is, who the man who is titled the God of Manga is, who the man who has decisively influenced the destiny of anime, the manga industry and popular culture is, who the man who got plagiarized by Disney themselves is, then let me tell you something : your own fault for being uncultivated, maybe if you weren't you would understand the weight his name and his work bears. That aside, I can definitely see why you would enjoy these cheap easy to write generic isekai anime, seems like there is a pattern here.

@Kopplex You didn't make an argument for why some random something-or-other I've never heard of by someone I've never heard of is better than a non-generic, non-trashy isekai anime except that it is "considered" (by whom, and why do their opinions matter?) to be the best work of whomever-that-is. The opinions of random people about a random show by a random person say nothing for its quality in relation to something else entirely.

that's just an opinion. The 2 anime are both subjectively different you can't compare them. I personally would have also preferred Prasyte but hey at least it isn't Overlord. Not to mention TPN is a gem by itself, just be happy that it'll be on the next poll and hope for it then :)

I'm not the only one that does it. Overlord get's trashed constantly and if you don't like it, then ignore it and keep shilling it. In a lot of people's opinions (including mine), Overlord is a bad show that would bring about boring discussions. It sucks character, story, and animation-wise, especially the latter. I don't care if you don't trash on shows you don't like, in fact that is completely irrelevant to what I think. I am going to always say it, because I don't want the bros to sit through three seasons of garbage. Overlord isn't that good to a lot of people, and that's that.

In every vote it appeared you constantly trash it, how it is bad and generic, and awful cgi, and isekai, et cetra, et cetra. But people still like it very much and, in my opinion, in this community is is considered a bad manners to shit on the show other people cheer on. I absolutely despise Devilman and you don't see me moaning about it in comments every time, do you? So I'd really appreciate if you tone it down a bit, as "Overlord bad" doesn't really add much to the conversation.

All the overlord hate is really undeserved. And it wasnt like that the past 2 votes. I wonder why that is Seems like the third season really tainted the peoples opinion of overlord, mainly due to shitty animation. Overlord is easily in top 3 isekai but then.... I can kind of understand. The anime didnt do the novels justice I just wish we could compromise with letting them watch just S1, which was pretty good and then let them decide for themselves if they want to read the novels or not

i hear people endlessly complain about isekais beeing generic but not a single time have I seen a person explaining why they think that They see an isekai, see that the basic premise is similar to other isekai (hm... isekai - a person transfered to another world. I cant see why they might be similar *sigh*) and say its generic If you are willing to call most or even all isekai generic under that premise, you would have to do it with any romance and basically any other genre as well Otherwise its hypocritical
