Yeah, I prefer them just being an average Morioh citizen who decided to help. Not only does it make more sense for someone of that era (80s) to have that hairstyle instead of Josuke from the future inspiring... himself (which creates a paradox as the hairstyle would still have no origin). But it’s also better writing as it represents the themes of Morioh’s people helping each other unconditionally (which seems a lot more inspirational than Josuke helping himself).
