When Natsuo sees those scars and instantly feeds her instead of taking advantage of her or abandoning her I became 100% invested in the show. It makes me think "I hope I would have the compassion and courage to do the same". Domestic Girlfriend starts out as a romp but as it progresses it poises questions and gets deeper. I'm thrilled you two are watching this show! Keep it up! Love you guys!

2019-05-18 02:14:51 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, despite a couple questionable choices, the show isn't nearly as "smutty" as people assume (for season 1) and is actually more mature in some places when compared to the average anime. I'd take this over dealing with Meliodas' upskirts/boob squeezes, or five barely dressed characters whose breasts bounce constantly when they walk. Considering their situation these characters don't act that unreasonably, especially Natsuo who whether it always works or not, does attempt to be good throughout even given the difficult sometimes soap-opera situations, his own character flaws and his age. At that age decisions made are rarely well thought out and I can't imagine being in this kind of set-up. A lot of other shows would not treat the Momo situation the same at all. Even when they showed Momo licking the ice-cream, it was from the point of view of Rui who had just heard terrible things about Momo and so saw everything Momo did through a very sexual lense. The show definitely isn't perfect. The suppository scene is an example of that and all the shower scenes. But I think as a relationship drama it's not as trashy as its reputation.
