oh for sure, part 3 is definitely a bridge between the two halves of the first 6 jojo parts. Sorry if i spoiled you a bit on part 6, but just so it's clear i only told you what WONT happen, and you'll never guess what will.

How about you just let them watch the show and don't spoil anything

You mean Jacob? Caleb's the one on the right.

I've heard mixed things, but I like it so far. Jolyne is a great protagonist. Her first scene sold her character for me.

You should come back when you finish Part 6 with your thoughts cause Part 6 is just a crazy ride

I think you mean automatic stands. Lovers was long-range but needed to be "controlled" to an extent. However, Sheer Heart Attack and Black Sabbath follow your rules because they're an automatic stand.

Long-range stands are similar to robot AI. They're set up with basically an if/then statement If X happens, the stand acts and whatever it can do takes effect.

maybe that's why his stand was premature. and in stages. coz he was not meant to develop the stand coz his soul was not mature enough for a stand yet

Well it could be both, it doesn't have to be part of one arc exclusively. I didn't mention Part 6 because I haven't finished reading it yet, so as far as I know, the only thing the stand arrow does in Part 6 is unlock Stone Free. Plus I feel like Part 5's finale, as I mentioned earlier, is the logical extreme of the stand arrow as a plot device.

id count part 3 more as the end of the original dio arc, and include 6 in the stand arrow trilogy since even though it only shows up briefly, the theme of finding ways to evolve stands even further continues on. Araki just got bored of having only one method for said evolution.

29:10 I'd say Parts 3 (retroactively), 4 and 5 are all part of pseudo-arc revolving around the stand arrows and the problems they create, with the Part 5 finale being the logical extreme of what can be done with it.

When talking about 'chosen ones' and which people can get stands, it's important to remember the beginning of part 3, and the Holly situation- it was established that she wasn't mentally strong enough to handle one, so not everyone can be a user.

they're just being careful to pay attention to all possibilities. makes sense with a show that often pulls crazy twists. And they specifically say that they can see how it's likely not going to come up again. I think speculating about what's going to be important is part of the storytelling experience. it's ok to be wrong.

my favorite thing is how they think every time says "stand" referring the the action it's a reference, but "Stand" is specifically said in english and thus a japanese speaker wouldnt see it as a reference if you used the japanese word for "stand".

i feel like its implied that koichi was able to hang on long enough to be healed because his spirit was on the verge of eligibility. anyways diamond is unbreakable didn't do a great job of establishing that most people would die if pierced, so i get the confusion. I honestly don't remember exactly why I knew basically how the rules worked when i watched this scene for the first time. it could have been based on other peoples commentary, but i wasnt that deep into the jojo community back then.

Caleb's commentary has devolved into bad Jojokes.

Please remember that Crazy Diamond healed Kochi after he was stabbed with the arrow or he would would have died

I can't wait for them to continue thinking this anyway all the way through SS.

Just for the bros- the Gangster in Giorno's childhood is someone not to get invested in the same way the man who saved young Josuke is. They're equally not important.
