The balance of volumes isn't going to please everyone. I think one idea is to make commentary noticeably louder in one ear, and make show volume louder in the other ear.

2017-09-07 02:30:34 +0000 UTCWhen considering the change in character that occurs between the flashback and the present, it is possible that the writers wanted the audience to feel Makashima's dissapointment and the frustration with the sybil system. You have an interesting character that has so much potential for growth and all of that potential is squashed by the sybil system untill there is almost no reference to the original potential and since Makashima is not present to represent the audiences frustration the audience is forced to take the Makashima role themselves. Its a bit of a stretch but fun to theory craft. Thank you guys!
