Concerning your question about the camera angles and body language, I think it's a combination of the mangaka of Haikyuu loving volleyball so passionately along with Production IG optimizing that love with their amazing work. I've seen a lot of sports animes and can confirm that it's pretty rare to see the camera being so consistently dynamic.

2017-09-21 12:50:59 +0000 UTCI loved how you mentioned that underestimating an opponent can be a major downfall, the scoreboard can make a huge difference in how you play! I especially liked Shoyo's reaction to the scoreboard: not only was his team down by a set but the other team was one point away from winning the match and yet he wasn't discouraged at all. In fact he got confused at the thought of even giving up despite the major point disadvantage. Shoyo is a great MC and can't wait for the next episode!

Haikyuu has a wonderful take on sports anime - every character has their own specialty and charm. All contribute and grow. So excited to see your reactions and more ultimate Frisbee comparisons! XD

So glad you guys are watching this series and that you enjoyed the first episode so much! :D Also, as far as the animation/camera angles that you were talking about goes, I would say that this is pretty specific to Haikyuu and one of the many places where this show really stands out. The animation and directing for this show is just stunning.
