@Philip M; where did you stop watching? were you still in Part 1: Phantom Blood? because you can theoretically skip to Part 2: Battle Tendency, or any other Part, though Part 3: Stardust Crusaders really depends on context of the previous 2 to enjoy fully.... and Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable, while surely benefiting from that history and pre-existing familiarity with concepts introduced there, can be watched and enjoyed as a stand alone story.

Jojos is the grandfather of a lot of anime tropes. It's an older manga that inspired a lot of todays manga writers. If you go in to it looking for fresh plot you'll be disappointed because Jojo did so many of the anime tropes that you see in newer anime first.

Same. I never really get into JoJo. I heard people saying that the fighting get more interesting later but I just feel like the plot is too cliche and boring. And Dio is really a terrible villain.

Binged first 12 episodes of JoJo so I could follow the SoS reaction on it, but had to drop the series. Guess it's just not my thing. Rather see Hypekyuu twice a week.

They are releasing Tuesday and Thursday- Hunter. Wed- Psycho pass. Fri- MHA. Sat- Jojos. Sunday- Haikyuu!. Plus podcasts and stuff. It's not just sitting down and filming and done. It's a lot of time spent editing. I think getting 1 episode per week is fine for now. If they get into it after the start they can poll once they get an open slot.

I would say that the first 3 episodes of part 1 are great for this origin ark, but the pacing of the other 6 are all over the place and feel rushed and contrived in comparison. Part 1 is still a very conventional shonen but part 2 goes of the wall and only becomes more bizarre as it goes on.

in comics/manga in general the flow of time is convoluted, as a page or two of dialogue doesn't feel as time consuming as it being spoken aloud...

it is the weakest episode of part 1, and kinda highlights the problem part 1 with too much over-explaining and lot of scenes not making sense logically. however "we are pulling it out of our butt, however we're going to explain how we do it" is pretty much jojo entirely, but at least you're having fun with that aspect.
