to be fair Space Ripper Stingy Eyes aren't lasers, they're high pressure optical fluids(ever see a water cutter? same principle), so redirecting it makes perfect sense considering Hamon and vampiric interactions.

Both of them have the power to pull powerups out of nowhere, but the difference is that whereas Jonathan's was punching harder with a specific element, Joseph's could be anything. Tommygun from nowhere, shot glasses to deflect lasers, grenades tied around more grenades in a split second - all of it is so much more enjoyable as far as, "when was he able to do that?!" powers go. He's been introduced as the kind of guy that if you took a minute longer, you'd realize it doesn't matter how he did it - because he's Joseph Joestar, and that's all that matters.

It's gonna take you guys approx. 2 years to finish this series, and it's like a slow torture for me to wait an episode per week LOL. Staights couldn't tell it was a mirror because Joseph was the only one in the mirror. They don't explain it in-show, they just trust that the audience knows vampire mythology. Also, Guile from Street Fighter was modelled after Stroheim.
