Oh, and I think you guys might have confused your units. If his mass in episode 3 still stands, All Might is only 255 kg in his large form. This would make him about 562 lbs. If it was the other way around and he was over 500 kg, the actual amazing feat there would be how he could move the way he does and tiny non-powered Deku could lift him, as he would be over 1,200 lbs!

I think the point that the mangaka wanted to make is that Bakugo and Midoriya are really close in intelligence to the point that no one is inbetween them, but the actual gap is up to the audience to decide. Either way, this episode debunked the last few assumptions made by not-so-attentive anime-watchers that Bakugo is a dumb brute. A lot actually goes on in there when he's battling rather than riding on pure instincts. If him scoring the highest overall total in the entrance exam, his commentary on the Midoriya vs Todoroki fight mirroring Deku, and how he beat Tokoyami wasn't proof enough.

I never use class rankings and especially not test rankings to tell me how smart a student is. As a teacher I can tell you that rankings are very arbitrary, I can have two students, one with a 95.68% and the other with a 95.69% and the second student would be ranked first while the first would be ranked second, even though grade wise, both students got the exact same grade. To say that one student is smarter than the other based on that is not seeing a full picture. I've even had a class where a whole set of students all scored around the same, but they were ranked differently based only on a 0.01 percentage. So, I wouldn't say Bakago is more intelligent than Izuku simply based on a test ranking.

I actually enjoy that they did it this way, rather than simultaneous fights.

I really enjoy your speculation, the correct and the off base, but my greatest joy might be the fact that I know the show will provide you guys with a wonderful reward. There's basically zero chance you won't enjoy the fuck out of the rest of season 2.

This entire section was handled much more poorly in the anime than i nthe manga, like Phyllis said. They didn't know the fights weren't serious battles, they didn't get to see how others were doing, etc. This was just a bad decision on the studio's part to change it like this, as well as to announce in advance via the teacher meeting (that also didn't happen) that they weren't going to be serious about it. I mostly like the MHA anime, but this was a mistake.

This isn't a spoiler, but in the manga, the battles are occurring at the same time. So Deku & Uraraka aren't observing the battles in the manga as they're also fighting the teachers.
Anyway I can't wait for you to watch Todorok & Momo vs Aizawa + Deku & Bakugo vs All Might. The hype is real. :>
Also there's an end credit scene next ep!

if there is no slap bet on who passes and how they pass(escape or capture) and who fails, I will be sad.
