2018-01-05 20:44:21 +0000 UTCAs far as the cats in this episode go, I believe they are actually a reference to the H.P. Lovecraft story, "The Cats of Ulthar." In the story, it is forbidden to kill cats in the town of Ulthar due to the past actions of a couple who enjoyed capturing and killing the local townspeople's cats. Ancient Magus' Bride takes influence from a lot of different lore and stories, and it's one of the big reasons I love it so much!
