Boatloads of mythology in this episode. Hopefully it spurns some curiosity. :3

The scene also was in pseudo slow-mo, so the effect was a tad more pronounced. Either way, it was silly.

I'm pretty sure they haven't even mentioned that evil magic user's name yet and won't for maybe 2 more episodes, so I'm pretty sure that someone just kinda spoiled something in the comments. Not a major spoiler (probably), but still.

Well, they had Tolkein, at least. I'm glad I grew up reading a lot of Greek mythology, European folklore, and a small smattering of classical English literature - because hot damn, that shit comes up so much in this show, and it makes me SO happy. Honestly, the blend between Western mythologies and Eastern mythologies is part of what makes this show so damn captivating, and I also adore its inclusion and treatment of Abrahamic religions as well. This very episode, actually, is the first one I watched for a second and third time. It's so masterfully done, with the interplay between the different characters and all the subtle foreshadowing and world-building.

Nah, Oberon and Titania get along! They're just kind of... how would I put it... headstrong? If we're talking about the Shakespeare version here. They got back together at the end, but they definitely bicker a lot and sometimes get on each other's nerves. You know... one of THOSE couples. Which are irritating irl, but fun in fiction. And of course, They're a bit more wild and powerful than the average human, so it makes sense that their relationship has aspects that look really dysfunctional to us, but by faerie/god standards are pretty normal.

Oh hell yeah. When you got boobs that big, they WILL spill everywhere. Just basic physics. EXAGGERATED physics, but we're also looking at veeeery exaggerated boobs, so I mostly give it a pass.

Another thing they missed was Cartaphilus (the evil silver haired sorcerer). He is from Biblical mythology. He is also known as "The Wandering Jew," a man who taunted Jesus when he was on the way to Crucifixion. He was cursed to wander the earth until the second coming.

Also, notice how they spent, like, 90 seconds on Titania walking up to Elias, and another 7 minutes in a conversation where nothing really happened except Chise waking up. And it didn't really feel slow.

lol Oberon and Titania aren't supposed to get along though according to Shakespeare.

There were a ton of references to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania and Oberon, the donkey she rides, mentioning the banquet, Oberon liking blondes) I'm sad you didn't pick up on them!

....You guys don't know anything about the folklore and mythology of Britain, huh? Shakespeare? Titania and Oberon are famous figures. The Queen and King of the Faeries. I guess I keep for some reason thinking you're well-read and familiar with history, mythology, written fiction, and the like, but I guess all I know about you gaiz is you watch anime and like frisbees, so maybe it's an unfair assumption to make. That being said: I highly recommend doing some reading when you get the chance. There's lots of fascinating stories all around the world and they come up in other works of fiction all the time. Knowing a bit more about them might make you a bit more clued in when names are dropped and historical/mythological figures appear in other series. Could even provide inspiration for Jacob's book-writing! It would also provide explanation of stuff like the faerie fondness for redheads and blondes.

This was the last episode I watched. So from here on out, I'll be watching each episode for the first time right before I watch your reactions. Also, not gonna' lie, it's not like I don't like the Fairy Queen's boobs, I just wish they'd spent less time focusing on them. Also, the Crunchyroll comments by people who have never seen how real breasts work were staggering. Not saying the portrayal is totally realistic, but at that size, with that support, riding side saddle on goat(!?) back, it's at least just an exaggeration rather than ridiculous Gainaxing.
