Yess ikr, Oikawa's character is just so complex and interesting. There are soo many facets to his personality, I hope they touch on it more when they get his backstory

Oikawa is the best setter in the entire show. I am kinda bummed out that you guys didn't discuss his character further, honestly for me he is the best character in the show.

I got quite confused when I watched the second season too. Thanks for the clarification though.

Kudos to Nishinoya for getting that serve. It's a shame Oikawa decided to take advantage of the luck Seijoh got with the rotations and try to break away when Nishinoya wasn't in there. He thoroughly destroys amateur teams he plays by spotting any holes and magnifying them by a hundred. This episode did a good job of showing that. Still Hyped!

The whistle blowing, Kageyama looking shocked, and Suga the other setter of the team standing on the sideline holding Kageyama's number should be enough to figure it out :P Nah but really it's not that big a deal, they'll find out next episode anyway.

I love how you just watched the Jojo's episode where you had 'the warrior reset' by flipping a switch in their mind; and in this episode I feel Tanaka did the exact same thing. Also I don't get way people are so mad about that you didn't understand what Suga did in the end, I didn't get it either the first time, and I'm sure quite a lot of others didn't either. It comes down to the simple fact we don't play volleyball.

Omg, did you seriously not realise that the judge blew his whistle BECAUSE they are switching Kageyama with Suga? Suga was holding a 9 becuase that's who he's switching with: aka Kageyama. Ukai is deliberately changing setters because Kageyama isn't thinking straight. And if they were doing signals I really don't think they would be that obvious :p Also, I'm pretty sure the players that are not on the court have some kind of rektangle (drawn on the floor) that they stand in. They can't just walk around willy nilly. I'm REALLY looking forward to the next episode though: we finally get more of Suga!!! :D

In Japanese high-school volleyball, there are two national tournaments, one in the summer and one in the winter (though called spring tournament). What we are seeing is the first one and generally speaking isn't necessarily the last one for the 3rd years, unless they want to focus on their study/job hunting.

I believe Seijoh is the nickname of Aoba Johsai, the first two characters would be "Ao" (blue/green) and "joh" (castle) and together they are pronounced Seijoh, hence Bluecastle in translations. The full name could be crudely translated as something like Greenleaf Castle-west.

Kageyama's jersey number is 9 guys, that's what we call a suberooski

Seijoh is short for Aoba Johsai, which is the full name of the school. It's like how Dateko is short for Date Kogyo! Love the discussion as always, but will refrain from saying anything more at this point lol. You guys are so right but also so wrong and I can't wait to see your upcoming reactions! xD

Aobajousai = 青葉城西, and if you take 1st and 3rd kanji you get different readings 青城 = Seijou; it’s basically like a nickname!
