Yep. It sure isn't. Since it's literally ALWAYS stated to be stealing. Every single time. Over and over and over. Since the first moment Silva said what it was. And every single time afterwards. Including the Hunterpedia entry at the end of THIS VERY EPISODE. They decided that "steal" means "copy" even though that isn't what it means for some reason. They've already been informed that it's stealing, not copying, on Discord. So all that's left is for the reactions to reflect that. Dude.

@Mika Copying and stealing mean two completely different things, and if you've seen it that many times, then you should know what definition of stealing is being used based on what they show.

Their "logic" regarding how the other Spiders wouldn't know he killed Chrollo and then you just "work on rescuing Gon and Killua" doesn't pan out, either. Yes, that's a super exciting, mega-hype idea in like an action movie or something, but would anyone who actually cares for their friends actually make that incredibly risky gamble? I don't think they would. I don't think they'd take HALF of that risk even. Things didn't work out, Gon and Killua didn't escape, too bad. Plan changes to a hostage exchange. It would appear they are still grappling with the fact that HxH adores going against expectation. The easy, this-is-how-stories-are-written logic of "Kill Chrollo, Kurapika! It's what your character arc's been building to this whole time!" doesn't necessarily work in a show that wants to genuinely surprise you and not just... give you the surprise you want. Did that make sense?

I'm pretty sure in an earlier episode Zeno speculates that Chrollo seals other people's abilities inside his book, and I'm completely sure they explicitly show an example. It matters because they may as well be analyzing fan fiction when their speculation is based on something they misunderstood. It also matters to the events in the show because if Chrollo steals their abilities the rest of the Phantom Troupe can't do anything.

This is one of my fave episodes of the yorknew arc. I love the conflicting perspectives of the troupe, and how they each have their own ideals on what chrollo represents in the spider. I just find this episode so intense, it's great.

If kurapika killed chrollo there gon and killua would have died, period. I don't understand why you are questioning kurapika's decision there. BTW Chrollo does not copy techiniques, he STEALS it.

Um if the troupe realise Chrollo is dead before Kurapika can get Gon and Killua back then Gon and Killua are dead... Its far to risky to do that.

Tbh i don't see why people get so worked up about how chrollos ability actually works... i for one didn't know that it takes away the power from original user before i watched their reaction videos and i have watched the series throu probably 4-5 times... "STEALING" doesn't necessarily mean you toke something and victim looses something like physical item... you can also steal someones intellectual property like a song, writing or something else that immaterial... and thats what i would classify nen powers of people in this universe.
