I would argue that her desire to kill him was just as much of a fear response. A fear of what will happen if he's not killed, a fear of what he would grow up to be.

But if you have no idea who Johan was and tried to pick him out of a sea of Europeans, and HE didn't want to stand out, you wouldn't be able to really pick him out. He is considered very attractive so there is that, but if he doesn't want to be found, Johan can blend in extremely well.
