First, you are vastly underestimating Johan. However smart you think he is, he's smarter. Second, a few things you forgot to bring up. First was the way Heckel felt a cold, ominous feeling coming from the study, even though he knows absolutely nothing about Johan at that point. Is there a way that someone can leave their essence in a location to such a degree that even days later, a total stranger can still feel it? Also, did you hear that Johan had been living with the Springers for a year, and yet Heckel states that he had been watching the mansion for a month and never saw Johan? Remember Caleb's theory about Johan projecting fear to a point where people's eyes automatically try to avoid him? Could this be a possible example?
