Depends on taste mostly, and what you expect from the series. I also dropped it at episode 2 and after continuing, I found myself loving it. I'd say that from episode 3 the story really shows it's colors and what it intended to do with the series.

Because one episode can make you feel emotions that Your lie in April makes you feel in 12 episodes. YLIA is also very good but I cried rivers and got sick when watching Violet. And I judge this type of shows based on how much they make me cry. And I don't know what you mean with cardboard because I've never seen animation that good.

Jacob has seen the first cour ( first 11 eps. of 22 eps) and not the whole first Season of 3-gatsu. I also think that there are some similarities, but 3-gatsu is distinctly unique in it's exectuion, direction, it's handling of incrediblly sensitive and mature themes and on and on and on. I would've been down for Rakugo and Spice and Wolf If they were in the running against 3-gatsu, but definitely not Violet. Other Kyoani series like Hyouka and Sound! Euphonium would've been much more deserving to be honest. Violet is great Eyecandy, with a nice OST, really good direction and storyboarding BUT boy does it have flaws.

With less than 12 hours left, I'm presenting to you three good reasons to change your mind and retract your vote for Sangatsu no Lion. As much as I love the show, I really don't want it to win right now and here's is why: Reason number one: we still have almost half of YLIA to go. Why is that relevant? Because, in my opinion, these shows "feel" really similar (oversimplifying: a genius-like protagonist with "cursed" family background and their woes) and doubling down on that theme is not a good idea. Bros need some diversity! Tbh, I'm really surprised we got the drama-themed poll at this time, but oh well. Reason number two: it's freaking loooooooooong! I'm a big fan of long-running series, but guys, come on! With GTO on the horizon, adding another 10+ month show to the list? At the end of it, I just want for Bros to watch more "different" stuff. Different settings, different themes, different genres, different art styles... To develop a taste one must try out many different things and we have a lot of long shows as it is. It's a good time for some bite-sized ones, don't you think? Reason number three: Jacob has seen season one, meaning we're going to get a half-blind reaction for the first half of it, and half-blinds are worse than Hitler. Do you like Hitler? I don't.

Thanks! I also enjoyed writing them greatly. I might follow up on those reviews sometime in the future when I have some more free time again (even though nobody might really read them then since the SoS bros will most likely be done with the series completely by then). It's just that I'm personally not that fast of a writer. A decently long "short" review still takes me almost an hour to write/correct/restructure etc. and that's just a bit too much for me at the moment. I would also love nothing more than write my stupidly long HxH comments again but I don't really have time even for them at the moment... :(

I love so many of these shows, but I'm so happy and overjoyed that March is doing so incredibly well. It has so little media coverage by the (bigger) anime community in the West compared to other similiar shows and the discussions would be just so good between the sos bros. I love Kyoani and enjoyed Violet overall, but I'm dying to see Rakugo or March covered by the bros and get more people to watch these 2 masterful series.

If I recall correctly you did the awesome little reviews on the Monster episodes as a fellow first-time monster viewer ? If that is so than I must say I really enjoyed them and kinda miss reading them after every Monster video. But I know the feeling of being short on time.

I really enjoyed Usagi Drop- top notch. It wont win no matter how many polls its on but you guys should watch it anyways on your own because it's a beautiful story. Yuri on Ice!! Is a great show too, has great comedic moments to boot but didnt vote on it because I dunno if its a reaction i want to see from sos bros (i definitely will watch if it gets picked) I havent seen the other shows and am excited to see any of them! I've seen a bit of Wolf's Rain but so long ago i dont remember (anime was scarce to find back then for me lol) but March Comes In... I hear is pretty good. Overall I'm in to view whatever :)
