Copyright Claim Issues
Added 2018-08-19 00:59:39 +0000 UTCFirst off, I'm sorry y'all are having to deal with this. Just in the last two weeks, JoJo's and MHA have been targeted with a barrage of copyright claims. Thankfully this isn't the end of world (getting strikes), and we have a couple things we're doing behind the scenes to fix this. However, if our plans continue to fail, we will do things HunterxHunter style, with no show footage, timer based, full length reactions. For Jojo you either have to get a crunchy roll sub (unless you want at the very least three ads in every video), download it or go to some shady streaming website that probably also has ads in the video plus it just being unreliable in general with their constant buffering. Imagine somebody beginning to watch this starting right now, if the trends continues on from episode 23 then until now to the end of DIU you'll have to do this 64 times, not counting the last one which isn't full length of course. Maybe even more if the copyright goes the HxH route and early content has to be re-uploaded in this form. I'm not saying this is an absolute nightmare just that this is going to be quite annoying for some people. There are cons to doing full length just the same as there are edited ones, I don't know why all you say is "shut up it's minor lol". Just because Mr Uber Fan Patreon isn't bothered by it doesn't mean a casual viewer won't be.

2018-08-19 21:22:19 +0000 UTCI did marathon their HxH reaction till I caught up, and it was still no effort to sync it up between episodes, so I still don't see the issue. A few moments every 20 - 60 minutes, depending if you watch the discussion, really isn't that much work, even if you are binge watching it. The only people who have a legitimate complaint are the ones who can only watch on mobile.

Yes you would if you were marathoning it and you had to stop and take a little intermission after every video to sync it up, it'd break the flow of things. It's not like i'm complaining about this, but it'll drive off newer people. All i'm saying is don't dismiss legitimate complaints and call people lazy.

I don't know if you are able to download from crunchyrol and similar legal sites and I don't encourage you to download from illegal ones but that is what works for me and it is easy to do.

It's not like you can just go into the comments and click on a sync link since the episodes aren't on youtube. Would you not be annoyed if you had to sync it up every video?

But it tried to bill me TWICE this month instead of waiting, and now I am stuck at “pledge cant be processed” what a bull lmao. I cant even revert to $10 ^^

Sure its bad for people that are watching from phone or who are just too lazy to make the little effort required to pullup the series on other window and synk it... but for others you get full reactions without cuts and its less work for them to not have to cut it(maby we could get more wink wink) and also this way there is no fear of copyright claims.

I stopped watching the Megalobox reactions because of it and the same will happen to the other ones. HxH works well because there is someone nice enough in the youtube comment section doing the sync for us, but that's an exception.

I've been a patron since literally minutes after their announcement went up a year ago and i certainly wouldn't have been if it was only for the extra content i get because that would make absolutely no sense from a financial standpoint alone. That being said however neither do i like nor can i actually afford to throw my money at people just because i like them or what they are doing. If you can and want thats great but i'm not about that life and would like at least some value for my hard earned money.

That being said, i do think their should be extra perks to paying more and they definitely understand that and will surely address it when the time comes :)
