Funnily enough, the "archaic sins" were removed primarily for redundancies. Ironic considering how similar many of the currently canonized ones are. Greed, Lust, and Gluttony, are all essentially just sins of material excess. Pride is often what causes a lot of Wrath, so they aren't the same, but go hand-in-hand pretty well. I think Sloth and Envy are more psychologically unique tho.
