2021-05-20 01:50:01 +0000 UTCI also don't really like the cliche of the MC being basically superhuman from the start of the series with no explanation from the start and making it convenient for the MC to do things. I like an MC who starts out average and logically works to build up power in whatever way the series sets it up to do so. It just feels like an annoying cheat that the MC has automatically.

I think the demons and curses stuff is generally way overused in anime and manga and I grow sick of it at this point but JJK has a few qualities that would make it probably my third favorite shonen jump series right now. The people that are saying the animation is super fucking amazing are right but also wrong. It has problems and looks whacky in some areas. I noticed multiple hiccups in the art and animation at some points. Although if you aren't paying much attention or generally care the overall look is good. It has one great animated fight. But I would argue the rest is quite average for any kind of decently worked on anime these days. But a lot of the plotlines in this series are things I have seen before. It kind of sucks but I guess that is what you get with any shonen jump series. A big reason why I like MHA so much is because it mixes japanese culture with western superhero culture. That isn't something done in anime/manga much at all if any. But again I like some of the things it does. Can't say I care for many characters other than the main 4 on here. They all just seem a little bland in this specific season. The character designs are good though. I'd say it would be my third favorite series for character designs. But anyways at this point I am just rambling so I am glad another good shonen jump series has been started up with a decent anime adaptation. Right now it is MHA, Dr stone, and JJK for me. I like all of them for different reasons.

It will probably lead to some very interesting character development/reflections. I can see a few possible outcomes that might change it, but only time will tell. I'm really looking forward to the continuation! The ed is fantastic!
