Maaaaan! I wish I listened to the people tellin' me to watch the OVA and movie before S2 and 3, respectively. Had me mad confused when they reintroduced the antagonist from the OVA I didn't watch.

This episode was wonderful! I especially enjoyed the reactions to how the case was solved and that Ranpo in fact doesn't have an ability! I don't have much to say, but I also appreciate that all the evidence that was mentioned was indeed in the episode so someone could pick up on everything if they're focused on trying to figure it out themselves rather than just calling back to evidence that wasn't there. Made the mystery more enjoyable. Even though Poe won't be how y'all expect him to be, I think you'll enjoy Ranpo's episode with Poe. It's nice character development for Ranpo. I'm really looking forward to the next two episodes (and the OVA/episode 25) with the focus on Kunikida! I love him so much. He's a really great character and I hope y'all will appreciate him even more!

Edogawa Ranpo was actually a pen name created out of admiration for Edgar Allan Poe. If you pronounce the sounds of "Edogawa Ranpo" really slowly, you can kind of hear a twisted version of "Edgar Allan Poe" lol. And yeah as you guys said he was a mystery writer, and even though he admired Poe and found him as a main source of inspiration, his writing is wildly different from Poe's. Very odd/unusual subject matter and a bit of that childishness that Ranpo's character has in the show.

You are correct, Edogawa Ranpo was a mystery author. His pseudonym is actually a play on Edgar Allan Poe's name because he admired his works so much. Now onto the video, I loved the reaction! I love when cocky characters can back up their claims and ranpo is definitely one of them, like you yourself said... I also like that dazai respects him just like everyone else even tho he himself is also a genius (in other aspects). Dazai is the one who said ranpo was never wrong btw!... I love that they brought up ranpo already knowing dazai was part of the mafia and just not acknowledging it cause that was my first thought after watching that episode for the first time too... ranpo wasn't one of my favourites at the beginning either but I hope you'll grow to love him as the time goes by. His biggest development is yet to be animated tho, imo. Speaking of ranpo's development, spoilers ahead: I know this was just a simple case to introduce ranpo's character and his "ability" but looking back at it and comparing it to the case he gets in the manga with mushitarou, I can't help but admire how much the writing has developed over the years.

The bros ask how the marble got into the bottle.... They must have forgotten SSSS Gridman's marble. It's a specific kind of drink sold in Japan. During the filling of the bottles, a marble and plastic top is added to seal the bottle. you pop it down into the first chamber of the bottle to open it. Kind of gimmicky, but a fun summer treat.

This is not the biggest episode but it’s one of my favorites. I am a scker for brilliant characters AND strong people w/o a power in a world with powers. That’s the reason why I hope one day we get a quirkless hero on MHA. 💕 I also love that he’s one of the oldest in the agency and yet he’s kind of their child 😂 I especially love when Rampo insults the officers and doesn’t even realize until the dude is on his face and Dazai gets between them to protect him. He’s a clueless genius 😂
