I feel a million people have said this but You should watch the If stories by echidnut (the youtuber) one day. Also this episode is great though sadly it does miss one key scene at the end. Concerning echidna. So Last episode you probably did not catch it but Ryuzu shima uses the voice of echidna. The reason this is is because since the day Ryuzu shima accidentally took the 1st trial of the sanctuary. Echidna put a small piece of her soul within her, over the past 10 years echidna has slowly taken over Ryuzu. Though I believe she was not truly taken over until Emilia took the 3rd trial. This explains many of the strangeness and plotting surrounding her this season. Echidnut (and some other anime youtubers have done various videos on this final chapter that was sadly cut from the anime (I hope they adapt it in a potential short ova or a directors cut tho)

Actually, Beatrice HAS to take Mana directly from Subaru, both so that he doesn't die from Mana poisoning, and also so that she can refuel and continue to use magic. It's more like Masters and Servants from the Fate franchise.

btw, with the pact with Beatrice, she doesnt have her own magic, she takes it from others, and since Subaru's gate broke in that final fight with Garf, he cant supply her with any more magic. also, she used up all the mana she stored up over the past 400yrs in order to cast the spell that put the Great White Rabbit in that pocket dimension place. Also also, with roswaal, he has been a family man basically, having kids to which he transcribes his soul onto/into and thats how he is immortal. and the talk he had with subaru when he was getting knighted was roswaal basically telling him "make sure you continue to save everyone bc if you lose one, ill turn everything to ash and force you to save them"

I heard it wouldn't be the same long wait again because when they made the 1st season they didn't realize it would get a good amount of attention so they hadn't started up on the next one to come after it. Also the actual series has more volumes to adapt after waiting for so long to get to this 2nd season. So let's hope we don't have to wait any more than 2 years. I don't know but maybe they already started up on the 3rd season. They at least know that it is a popular enough series and they clearly like putting their all into it based on the length of the episodes and how much work they put into it.

Dunno if anybody has said this yet, but I believe it was confirmed in the novel at this point that Roswaal was sacrificing the identities and individuality of his own children to house his soul in their bodies so yeah, pretty messed up.

remember that the spirit arts aren't exactly the same as magic - a magician uses mana inside them by moving it out through their Gate, and Subaru's Gate made a very nice cracking sound a few episodes ago. Spirit arts use the mana in the air around them, so I assume Subaru is doing the same here
