I love how much you guys ship Dazai and Chuuya, with how much they claim they hate each other they obviously do care about each other and that's because they trust each other wholeheartedly even after Dazai left the Port Mafia. You'll love their interactions later on because Chuuya is best boy.

i love these season 1 reactions..but im definitely more hype for the upcoming first arc of season two..thats when the series greatness turn into a whole new level..their opinion on this anime definitely gonna change ALOT

akutagawa discussion, yesss... lmao I loved the thought of japan being the promised neverland... dazai and chuuya's relationship is very fun and gets more interesting, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! the thing you said about the story not being tense because of the comedy was what threw me off at first when I watched it and I almost dropped it after s1, but wow I'm so glad I didn't, I'm excited for you to watch next seasons I also think that PM was never meant to be the big bad from what I've understood watching/reading bsd, I think one of the reasons for that is that the main cast of characters is full of morally gray ones - which I personally love (this ties to what you said about dazai not owning up to his mistakes / probably being different in PM), they have like 3 very powerful members but otherwise I think PM as a whole falls apart a bit in my opinion, their biggest strength is their leader who's as evil as they come in bsd and I can't wait for his introduction!

With regards to the comedy element, rest assured the show has no issues dropping the slapstick stuff when it needs to do more serious arcs. It's just an anime thing I've noticed where even some more serious shows will have a large comedy element early on. Maybe it's to hook people in, I don't know.
