2021-07-12 19:06:03 +0000 UTCok, people are gonna be bitching about that final episode, so I'm gonna try to talk about some of the really good stuff: Ai's voice actress, Aikawa Kanata, absolutely fucking kills it in this show, she's a relative newcomer, but she's already so good. She reminds me a lot of Tomoyo Kurosawa, Kumiko's VA, who is also amazing, so I hope we see a lot more of her in the future. (also this show is fucking gorgeous)

It's not like a single "bad" episode automatically makes the entire series "bad." That's such a narrow-minded way of looking at it, and weird too. How are you gonna be so weak-willed to let one single episode dictate everything else? XD

Everything from episode 9 is an escalating series of misses, with some sweet character moments that attempt to distract from mounting issues.

The special retroactively ruins so much about the show, but it’s 100% possible to watch the show and enjoy it without ever learning how badly the special ruins everything.

Would've been much cooler to see them react to a subversive Magical Girl show that doesn't totally crumble half way through like Utena. Still, the first few episodes and direction are pretty neat.

The first half of this show is brilliant and I still want to see their reaction to the last few episodes to see what they think about it and what conclusions they have about it! I still think it's a really good show! The only thing I would skip is the recap episode. But that's about it.

BUT since this isn’t a botched manga adaptation and just actually bad writing, I think they should finish this. If anything it serves as a case study lol. It’s not like TPN S2 where the adaptation drags the source material through the mud.

2021-07-11 18:21:22 +0000 UTCThis'll be an interesting one haha, but still worthwhile I think. Regardless of finale opinions, I still love the first 12 episodes - even the stuff after episode 7 is really good IMO, it's just disappointing in hindsight because of the lack of followup.

Although maybe it would be fun in a sense watching trainwreck occur and boys could be entertained by that.
