Yeah, the subtitles kinda really butchered it here. There are many places where they transliterate to an extent that isn't actually there in the dialogue. Source: I watched the show without subs initially.

2021-09-02 21:12:02 +0000 UTCWhen considering confession type phrases in anime, you always have to keep in mind that in Japanese, people people often leave out the subject when speaking, leaving it to context. So characters can just say "Like", (implied "I like"). Which is vague enough that the other person can convince themselves they are still talking about hands or whatever.
