regardless of the fact that these moments tie into important themes, the moment in question is dramatic in typical jojo's style. this series has fun even when it's making big statements. It feels very classical shakespearian, or more directly; very comic booky. I trust that even as they're enjoying the camp, they're absorbing the information about the themes. Look at how quickly they picked up on everything about the Boss' personality! Including the fact that he seems to have two different sides to him... ;)

2020-04-05 22:03:44 +0000 UTCThe more I watch these guys - who largely, are some of my favourites when it comes to talking about/theorizing about stories - the more this specific thing gets to me. I know hindsight is 20/20, but you'd think after watching 4.5 parts of JoJo, they'd learn that Araki 9 out of 10 times has something deeper to say than "I won because my friends believed in me". And then, y'know, maybe take that lesson to other stories, too...?

2020-04-05 16:36:17 +0000 UTCWhen the enemies say "what is pushing them forward" It's not actually just le anime wacky "nakama power" thing. You have to stop seeing things at surface level. It's foreshadowing for the last episode and very important to the thematic progression of Part 5, which yes, actually has interesting themes. Granted it's only obvious by the end but you still shouldn't take everything at surface level and just meme it
